What We Offer

Volunteer Services

Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care relies on a dedicated group of volunteers to provide unique services to our patients and families. Volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team, whether they are providing companionship to people living with serious illness, helping their family caregivers in a variety of ways, assisting at Elizabeth House, or helping with office work, fund raising events, thrift store, community outreach, and other operational areas.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community while becoming involved in a caring, dynamic organization. Our volunteers are people of all ages and from all walks of life. There is no need for prior medical or counseling experience – training will be provided before placement. The quality that our volunteers share is a compassionate nature and a desire to help further the mission of Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care.

Every volunteer is required to attend a 3 hour orientation session. Volunteers that wish to help in non-patient areas are then prepared to begin their work. Those people who wish to volunteer directly with patients and families attend an additional 12 hours of classes. In these classes, volunteers learn about pain management, family dynamics, communication skills, the dying process, spirituality, bereavement, and how to maintain a healthy personal balance while working with hospice patients and families.

Hospice volunteers often say that they get back far more than they give – that their lives are forever changed by walking with others in the final weeks and days of their lives.

We invite you to join our team and enrich your own life as you share your time with others! Please contact us by email or call (828) 692-6178 or (866) 466-9734.
